His media career started as a creative assistant in a Lagos-based advertising agency. After his B.Sc. in Computer Science from Lagos State University, a postgraduate study in Creative and Digital Media at the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria helped him to further explore the field of visual communication, content, and marketing.
He immediately joined Jungle Filmworks Lagos, where he got the opportunity to work on some of Nigeria’s most successful reality TV shows like Gulder Ultimate Search, Star Quest, Maltina DanceAll and many more as a video editor, while horning his skills as a content writer and storyteller.
In 2012, he made his film debut as the writer/director of the historic documentary film ‘Fight Back At Atlanta’. The film celebrates Nigeria’s 60 years at the Olympics, telling the untold stories of Atlanta 1996. It was screened at the Team Nigeria tribute event hosted by Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, the Olympics Committee, and the National Sports Commission for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
That same year, he co-founded Concert Radio, a 24-hour online radio. From there, he joined Channels Television and rose to become a digital news editor where he led the fast-paced Channels Digital in editorial decisions and managed content and internal communication with local and international correspondents and bureaus. With his joint leadership, the team won several local and international awards and grew the Channels TV web services into the most interactive and trusted in Nigeria’s broadcast media, including being Nigeria’s first news platform to acquire 100,000 subscribers and one million Ad impressions on YouTube and becoming Nigeria’s #3 ranked news App, second only to the BBC and CNN.
He resigned from Channels TV in 2017 to join international media group, Naspers and was part of the team that launched Nigeria’s first indigenous digital content aggregator driven by artificial intelligence – Bounce News App. He was a senior content producer on the team, working closely with the investigative and security departments of the State as Crime Editor and further expanding his network across digital and traditional media.
He also handled PR and marketing as part of the business growth team. He supported digital strategies, user acquisition campaigns, brand activations, B2B relations, sponsorships, content partnerships and productions. Bounce News achieved an unprecedented 1 million App installs in six months of launch and more awards followed him here as well.
